The heated grips for the 1390 come with an additional part, a heating control unit. It's approximately 2"x2" black box with an 8 pin connector and a 6 pin connector (covered with a rubber boot).

Does anyone know where you install this part?

Also, where is the white heated grip connector located? It was easy to find on my 1290 but seems to be buried on the 1390.

Cheers

Mystery solved!! You 1390 owners that want to install heated grips are in luck!

The white connector is located in the turn signal housing and the heating Co tool unit goes under the RH side fairing. Too easy!!

To get the instructions go to ktm.com/manuals > enter 63612964044 in the article, not manual, and the installation manual is available for download. 1390 instructions in English start on page 96.

Cheers!!

No. You enable the grips in one of the menus (bike info maybe, will check and let you know). Then, you turn them on by cycling thru 3 levels.

You can set them up on the quick switch (C1 or C2) to drill down thru the menus for you. I have suspension mode on C1 and heated grips on C2. Now that it's warm for the next 6 months I may find something else to put on C2.

Ok sounds good thank you I have C1 on suspension (for pro1) set up by Dave moss who set it up on YouTube great for ripping up in the mountain's C2 for ride modes.
Thanks for your help. I'm trying to find a good deal on the heated grips most likely will have to pay full price.

Hi quick question a dealer fitted my heated grips for me. The left hand grip will twist. It's not super loose but is this normal?

Thanks.
No. Next to the switch cluster is a little 3mm (if memory serves) hex screw that you need to tighten up. You need to pull the rubber from the grip back a little bit to expose it.
