The mileage has reached 1000 km
Service will be displayed
Is there a way to reset it manually?

Doubtful, especially while the warranty is still in effect. An authorized dealer with the “KTM Diagnostic Tool” as they call their special computer, would have to do it. Mine have reassured me they will reset the display after any post-warranty work I do myself.

Found that resetting is similar to other models. Menu/ scroll down to highlight Settings. Hold up/dwn arrows at same time for about 5 seconds. New screen pops up. If miles are highlighted press set button to change them. Or. dwn arrow to go to months. Press set to change months. Hold up/dwn together for about 5 seconds and it resets and goes to another screen.

It is 2/19 and I had a 1/19 service date so service warning light came on. I changed month to 9 and it worked.

Thanks for posting this. I have the exact same issue, where my bike was set for service 1/19. Now we're in 2/19 I'm getting the SERVICE nag message. However, I tried using your instructions, and it will not work for me. I can get as far as changing the month by pressing SET, but beyond that, holding the two arrow buttons (tried for 10 secs) does nothing. It won't go to the next screen. Because of this, it doesn't save my changes, and I still have the damn SERVICE warning every time I switch on the ignition. Am I missing something here? My firmware version is 1.0.

I'm in Sacramento, CA. I called the KTM Motorcycle dealer yesterday and asked about the first scheduled service and warranty. I was pleasantly surprised to hear that doing your own maintenance of your motorcycle will not void the two years manufacturer warranty. He said to just keep a record of the maintenance. He also said that if I want to save some money, I can perform the oil and filter change myself. That way, he would subtract $80 from the original $300 first service costs. He specifically said that the first service maintenance is really a glorified oil and filter change. He said that they would update the software if there is a new update of the software on the bike.

So can I forgo this first service maintenance and safe myself $300 by doing the oil and filter change myself and reset the software?

That's what I did (actually had an independent mechanic change the oil & filter.) Even got a 5 pack of HiFlo Filtro filters on eBay to save cash. I don't trust my dealership, but I do trust my mechanic - plus he's a lot closer to where I live. Just keep the receipts for oil, filter etc and you'll be fine.

i have a 2020 ktm adventure with 6957 miles. service light came on while riding. i change my oil every 5000 miles regardless. tried this sequence mentioned above. didn't work. service light said 7-5-23. just changed the service date back to 2022. hit set, cycled the key. light went out. has to go to dealer for valve check at 10,000 anyway. will change it back before i go in.
