I was wondering if anyone has used BT-Moto for the ECM re-flash stage 1+ tuning with handheld ?
Any feedback would be fantastic.

I forgot to add that there is a very noticeable reduction in engine braking too. It feels much more natural under deceleration and certainly is a factor in the better low-speed manners. This just makes me want it more, thanks for the feedback. Keep it coming..
That is a great point, glad to hear. They do not accept phone calls on Friday so will call them on Monday and get this going.I forgot to add that there is a very noticeable reduction in engine braking too. You might try emailing them. I never spoke with them. I just went through email and their customer portal on their website. That is a great point, glad to hear. They do not accept phone calls on Friday so will call them on Monday and get this going.
So, you had a Rapid Bike Evo tuning module on the bike? All I can say is that had I known how much better the bike would be, I'd have never bought the RB EVO and just flashed it with BTM's tune immediately.
Second and third gear now have all 100% throttle range available (BT said they're limited to 65% stock). That's very exciting, especially with my 16/40 sprockets. The bike runs much smoother, especially in all low-speed conditions. There is no more jerking while cruising slowly or while entering and exiting turns. Even with the throttle response on sport, I can smoothly control the bike at slow speeds. Before the tune, the engine would garble unhappily and oppose the throttle inputs causing a choppy and uncomfortable ride.
The engine now pulls hard all the way through, up to 11k (I don't track, but I thought it be fun to have them open the RPM another 1k).
I can't comment on fuel economy yet. I rode out and back a total of 260 miles last weekend, but there was a strong tail-wind going out. My mileage was much less coming back in the head-wind. I also haven't stopped laying off second and third when I have an open road in front of me. It's addictive power-wheelieing in third gear!
In summary, the bike I have now is the bike I thought I was buying. It kind of sucks that the engine is managed by the OEM in such a way that dramatically decreases the enjoyment of the product, just to satisfy emission regulations.
Yes, I had it on my bike soon after I bought it. Here's the story:So, you had a Rapid Bike Evo tuning module on the bike?
And now you have flashed the ECU with the BT-Moto tune?
Is the Rapid Bike module still on your bike?
So…. yes, yes, and no. Got it.Yes, I had it on my bike soon after I bought it. Here's the story:
As soon as I rode the bike after I bought it last November, I was disappointed in its low speed manners. It's difficult to ride smoothly, somewhat because the engine internals are relatively light so it can accelerate quickly (by design and I like that), but mostly because of the awful factory tuning, presumably for emission control. I also removed the heat-source directly beneath the engine along with its exhaust valve and replaced the actuator with an ESE dongle, that eliminated a known problem that causes limp mode (the actuator).
I wanted to improve the fueling, so I bought the RB Evo hoping it would do the trick. I spent the cash and to much time farting around with the maps and installation and never really noticed an improvement in riding manners. At this point I still haven't thought about flashing the ECM at all.
It was my dealer that suggested an ECM flash after my bike was in the shop for almost three months. They learned about my feable atempt to improve the fueling and said I should just get it flashed. That's when I started to look into it and found this thread. I chose BTM because their product and business seems very professional and well thought out. And they responed very promptly to my email inquiries. I had no prior knowledge of them or the other tuner mentioned in this thread.
I completely removed everything related to RB and tuned it with BTM's modified file. My bike, engine-wise, is all stock except for an Arrow mid-pipe, and I removed the SAS and charcoal cansiter and their related solenoid valves and hoses. I have the Rotty dongles in place.
Do you want to buy a RB Evo? I'll sell it cheap!![]()
I thought about expediting my order, but put that money towards 2-day delivery.Ordered the BT-Moto tuner today, paid the extra to get it expedited. Hopefully get everything ready by the weekend.
Maybe they got me on that one.... I also did the 2 Day shipping.I thought about expediting my order, but put that money towards 2-day delivery.
They shipped the same day anyway.
Haha, they almost got me too!Maybe they got me on that one.... I also did the 2 Day shipping.
I just hope everything goes as smooth as it did for you !!!![]()
To get the numbers in the middle, fix up the throttle percentage in lower gears will be good....maybe great ??? The reviews seem pretty favorable.Haha, they almost got me too!
I'm sure you'll be happy with their tune, especially if any of your experiences riding were like mine.
Let us know how it goes!
I'm not certain what you're asking. To get the numbers in the middle, fix up the throttle percentage in lower gears will be good....maybe great ??? The reviews seem pretty favorable.
You explained everything very well and beautifully. I read many such reviews and also bought an openflash tablet 3. But I was not happy for long.... until I went to the dealer. Before going to the dealer, I installed the stock file (as openflash says). The dealer updated the engine control unit for me because the motorcycle is new and there was a malfunction. When I came home and wanted to install stage 1, I could not. Openflash support offered me to pay 300 dollars to reset the license..... I am simply shocked. I sent a letter that this is unfair and that the dealer has the right to update the motorcycle control units as much as they want because it is under warranty and I am not going to pay 300 dollars each time. There is no response from openflash support yet. I will wait a little longer and create a topic about my case and a video on YouTube. I hope that openflash will make the right decision....🤬I have not used BT-Moto. And I don't have a 1390. LOL!
I'm just throwing this out there in case you don't know about it.
I just got an OpenFlash Tablet v3 from OpenFlash Performance. I have used it to read my stock ECU and upload the files to Shiv (the man, at OFP). He is now making me a custom flash for my '24 SD GT. As soon as he gets that done and loaded into my account, I will use the OFT to flash my ECU with the new mapping.
They do have the same thing for the 1390.
It's really easy to use. Download the PowerGate app to your smartphone.
The OFT v3 is just a puck-like device with one big connector on one side. Connect it to the bike's diagnostic port under the rider's seat using the special cable that comes with the OFT. Connect an alligator clip to the positive battery terminal, and then do everything in the PowerGate app.
Once it's hooked up and booted up, you read the stock ECU and it uploads to your account in the Cloud. If they already have a map file for your specific calibration, then you can just download it and write it to your ECU. If they don't, then you have to wait for them to take your stock map that you uploaded and make a custom file for you. They will email you when that is done. Then you can hook up the OFT again, run PowerGate on your phone, and flash the new map to your ECU.
It's probably the same way BT-Moto works, but I don't know.
I uploaded my GT map last Friday. Shiv emailed me that he's having to build my new map from scratch, so I should have it later this week. Wouldn't surprise me if mine is the first Euro 5 GT they've done a map for, but I don't know. I suspect they have been doing all Super Duke R's.
Anyway, it's just another option to consider.

Well, that is a shock. I was fully expecting that I could do just as you reported if I ever needed to have a new flash from my dealer. You explained everything very well and beautifully. Of course. I'm shocked myself. I'll definitely update.Well, that is a shock. I was fully expecting that I could do just as you reported if I ever needed to have a new flash from my dealer.
Please keep us updated.
I sure would!Anyone with the BTMoto tune care to give an update? Still happy with the purchase?
