😁😁, yeah, a 2390 GT yeeharrrh 😈
PS There's nothing to service on a rear shock except to regas & re-oil & usually put a new spring on when they sag and lose their damping. I,'ve had many shocks refurbished over my 50yrs riding, and my current Multistrada V4 shock is showing signs of wear at 49,000 KMs. It still performs well, but I can tell it has sagged slightly and the oil will be needing refreshing in the next 10,000 KMs.
A service means a rebuild with new seals & oil & gas. Sometimes there can be hard chroming issues on the shaft and that may be why your seals have torn and let all the oil and gas out. Even Ohlins shocks need new oil and checks every 2 years or 40,000kms. Your WP brand units may be similar. Japanese Shows etc all seem to last much longer but their oil still goes watery due the heat from the damper working it through the valves, just like front forks get hot and need fork oil every 2 yrs/40k KMs (depending on usage).
So while it is apart for it's "service" why not fit a new spring ready for the next 50k KMs? You can upgrade to the next spring rate if you are heavier than say 75kg or carry a heavy load most rides. A shockie rebuilder knows way more than a bike dealership.....the dealers don't usually repair shocks, they like to slip a new stock shock in........my cousin is a mechanic at Ducati and has been trying to get the dealership to invest in shockie servicing/repair/modifying for ages........
