Almost immediately after buying my bike back in May I realized that I the stock seat was not being kind to my bony arse and degenerated lower spine, so I called Corbin seat to get a better unit. I have bought Corbin seats for the last 4 bikes I have owned, and I'm telling you, it's worth the money to have a comfortable seat, especially on long rides.
Corbin did not have a seat, but wanted to borrow my bike in order to develop the tooling required to produce one. In exchange they agreed to make me one free of charge and recover the passenger seat to match. The company is located Hollister, CA which is about 60 miles south of me, so I agreed. After two weeks I picked up my bike, and a couple weeks later they sent me the finished product, which you can see in the pics. I chose the fake carbon fiber with orange stitches, but they have many different leather and fabrics in many colors to choose from. I'm very happy with the results, and I would highly recommend anyone who's backside is numb after a ride, to look into buying one.

They look good I was talking to saddleman they make nice seats too I would have to give up my seat too.
Corbin make a very good quality product I'll see what I can get them for from saddleman at least more choices but 363 seems a little pricey is that for both seats? I just need a the rider I have never even had my passenger seat on my bike i don't have the pegs on.
It good that some one is getting some companies to make some products

High priced? Meh. Need I remind you we paid close to $20k for these machines, and I see a lot of you dumping another $3-4k on exhaust, rearsets, carbon bits, etc., without any complaint, or even batting an eyelash. When I first contacted Corbin, they wanted the bike for a full month, which I wasn't willing to do, so I looked into having my stock seat recovered. Two shops near me quoted over $250 to do the work, and wouldn't give any kind of satisfaction guarantee, or warranty, plus I would have to give them the bike for a week or so while they do the work on the seat that I supply. I'm happy that they decided to speed up the process down to two weeks for me.
Made in USA usually means it will cost more since the factory isn't a sweatshop filled with 8 year old slaves.

I weighed both units. Stock seat: 2lb 3 oz, Corbin: 4lb 11oz. Heavier, yes, but 2 1/2 pounds is a small price to pay. The extra weight comes from the thicker seat pan, the extra foam used for padding, and from the heavier leather and vinyl used in the cover. If I or any of us really cares about weight, we would hit the treadmill for an extra 1/2 hour every day, and drop 10-20 off of our beer gut.

Fit issues? I Never heard of any from any of the numerous friends I know that have a Corbin. This is the 5th I have owned, and they all have fit without any issues. I've had a 99 R6, a 2000 R1, a 2001 RC51, a 2006 CBR1000RR, and now this RC8R, all with Corbins. The R1 unit I had was sold by Yamaha itself, showing how much faith they have in Corbin. When I sold that bike I took off the seat and sold it on Ebay and got $150 for it. I still have the RC51, ten years later, and the seat is still in good condition, despite my leaving it outside in the rain and sun frequently. I'm sure there might be someone out there that has posted on some forum that his buddy had a buddy that had a problem, or whatever, but I'm just speaking from my personal experience. This RC8R seat fits.
Sides, if a part doesn't fit, the general response should be to return it, right? That's what I always do, don't you?

If you got the tune cable you can download a map that ends with CB 0339 In Tuneecu.. That map is custom tuned for the 8's with heavier aftermath seats which gives you additional 3HP over the other maps to compensate for the weight of the seat...

Did this seat raise the seat height at all? It looks like it should significantly raise it higher considering how much thicker and somewhat wider it looks compared to the stock..?

The seat does not. The map that come with it does when you download it .The bike lifts up 2 inches. No worries for $10,000 more it comes with a fold up step latter that fits in the special spot for you nuts .No worries speed you will be fine:)

As long as my nutts have a place to rest I'm cool with that otherwise would hate to dent in the tank..
But jokes aside.. Most Corbins are known to raise the seat height of the Jap bikes and I'm assuming its no different w the RC..
