Hi folks
Quick question, 2010 RC8 UK bike, K&N Airfilter, totally gutted exhaust running PC3 with arko map, the bike is running great very happy with it, I want to remove PC3 and re-map using Tuneecu but which map should I use there are 2 listed on the Tuneecu site:
KTM 1190 RC8 2009-2010 model year with Akropovic exhaust
KTM 1190 RC8 106 hp 2009-2010 model year with Akropovic exhaust
Thanks in advance
Al

not the 106hp one

most might go the
KM690EU902031Map.hex OEM md5checksum KTM 1190 RC8 2009-2010 model year with Akropovic exhaust

and this one has been tweaked from a user
KM691EU0902031Map.hex OEM md5checksum KTM 1190 RC8 R Model year 2009 / 2010 with Akrapovic exhaust

Hi
Thanks for the reply, I managed to remove the pc3 load up this map

KM690EU902031Map.hex OEM md5checksum KTM 1190 RC8 2009-2010 model year with Akropovic exhaust, disabled the O2 sensors

Took the bike out yesterday, got to the end of my road and the clutch slave cylinder went so I had to come back, it did make some big bangs on the over run.

Ordered a new clutch slave yesterday, will try again next weekend.

when doing map swaps with unknown bike condition and settings , anything suspect like the banging when you unloaded the motor would make me suspect.
I used this theory on my 690 and didn't settle for anything less than smooth and extremely revvy bike.

OK managed to get out last weekend now the clutch has been sorted, I rode out running this map:

KM690EU902031Map.hex OEM md5checksum KTM 1190 RC8 2009-2010 model year with Akropovic exhaust

I was very happy with the results, the only downside was one loud bang on the over run. So yesterday I decided to try Boneheads map, I had a water sensor error once it was loaded so it must be for the 2008 model and mine is a 2010 model, I copied the F1 and F2 fuel trims over from Boneheads map onto the map listed above, no need to copy anything else as the rest of the map data was identical. Took it out for a test yesterday and it seemed to be OK, got out of town and onto an open road opened the throttle and anything past 1/4 throttle and it just bogs down as if one cylinder has cut out.
Anyone any ideas why this is happoning.

thats a difficult question , disable your sai if you have the exhaust gutted without cat, its only for cat

i looked at that bonehead map. wasnt much different from stock , it even had the 2nd throttles variably mapped. my 08 map has the 2nd throttle map boxes set to 100%,so they are always open.

bogging down on bigger throttle hits is usually lack of fuel

Ive changed out maps since my last post.
Map editing and tuning is very much an easier process on the 690 because its easy to take the bike to all extremes.

Not so with the rc8.
IMO you need to know the bike and be able to take it through every stage of assessment.
Thats pretty hard with this bike on the street.

I know the EU0#02001 is the base map but with the 2nd butterflies set at 100% its a sweet map for mid rpm and mild jabs at the throttle.
nothing full throttle tested though.

EU0#02031 has more fuel, i can see it on the map compare, and when its downloaded to ecu and the bikes idling the fuel smell is apparent coming from the the stock map.
Didnt test as much as i like but part throttle cruise to a bit of a push on seems lazy.

Cant really take this bike to test extremes , its to hairy.

What about your testing`?
