Looking for some advice regarding starting issues I’m having with my 1290 Superduke r gen 2

The bike starts and then the revs very quickly drop and the bike dies. Each subsequent time I start the bike it idles a bit longer before dying. I usually have to start the bike 3 times before the bike remains running. I can keep the bike going by rolling on the throttle once the revs start to drop. The bike is completely stock and runs well once I manage to get it started.

My initial thought was battery issues. Unfortunately replacing the battery made no difference (was still the original battery from 2017 so a replacement was definitely due).

This problem only started in the last month and is progressively getting worse even after the battery replacement.

There are also no warning lights on the dash.

Any suggestions and or help would be much appreciated.

I made a post on r/KTM regarding the issue where I uploaded a video of the problem:

Might well - the flow could be restricted but not completely blocked. I notice in your video that the RPMs are unstable for a while before it dies, which may mean that as the mix leans out there is almost enough flow to keep it going. There are two filters in the FP assembly - one rectangular/flat and one cylindrical. I'd get new ones and see if that solves the problem. They're not expensive or hard to replace, but it takes maybe 2 hours because you have to drain and remove the tank, which also requires the fairings to come off. And you have to be a bit careful taking apart the fuel pump assembly. But it takes not too much mechanical skill (even I was able to do it).

See here.

EDIT: I'd also get a rebuild kit (gaskets etc.) as if one of them has failed you might have a similar problem. The pump itself is the most expensive part, and if you decide to replace that, I'd not go OEM, but rather QFS. Their product comes with a complete rebuild kit and the filters. You can get it through Rottweiler. I recently installed this proactively, as I'd heard about fuel pump issues.

Ok thanks, I appreciate the help. I will start with the filters and rebuild kit this coming weekend if I can find one in time.
