Full disclosure -- I've also posted this to the UK KTM forum, and got one response that could be very helpful -- what appears to be a link to a download for tune ECU for windows. I've got a lot of motorcycle wrenching experience, but am more comfortable with a set of carbs than trying to sort out fuel injection on a laptop. I have access to a dyno shop, but it's 3+ hours away... and they have no experience with tune ecu, tuneboy, etc. Powercommander (which is helpful) and that's it. I've got a 2010 RC8 here in Canada. Have a PCV coming in (with 02 bungs and sensors), but am wondering about also switching to the orange throttle tube for on-throttle smoothness. Roads around here aren't great, so better throttle control would be ideal. I see that resetting the throttle with TuneEcu is a part of that process. I have used Tune ECU on a street triple 675 a few years ago (and have forgotten almost everything), but now I see that tune ecu is no longer compatible with windows (I have a PC, but use an iPhone)? Would I need to buy an android device, and a cable (from Rottweiler?) to clear fault codes and reset the throttle? I'd also be interested in dropping the idle a bit.

Ahhh you were referring to the color of the throttle grip handle.. Mine came with an orange throttle grip but i heard another person talk about the rc8 item being black and the orange one is less ramped......I suppose its correct......

Ive done a lot of stuff with tune ecu on the 8..
You have to use tune ecu to replace the stock map with a corresponding years race map to remove the 1,2,3 gear selectors hidden on the map...... So do that anyway...... F map fueling is subjective anyway so imo you take the race map and copy paste in the stock f map values to the new race map flash...... Its better to start cleaner than wetter with fuel........... Not everything is equal in how bikes rev upto 10k so one map might have a fat top end when you could have had it crisp and zingy...

you will prefer to mess with the pcV map edit as its simpler , in reality the pcV only good for F map edit in those % boxes, and spark but i think mostly its 5% more advance in those areas you will want to change..........Tune ecu does everything you need, get the cable or the bluetooth... I never used the mobile bluetooth version
