I wanted to get a 250 SX as I've been a 2 stroke guy since always. I've been running Maxima K2 or 927 for my bikes for a while now but does anyone here have any good suggestions on what other premix works well with KTM 2 strokes?
Ditto on the SyntheticIt depends on the bike.
Synthetics don't need to be run as rich because of their
higher lubricity.
Do your research before you go 100:1, but that is what
I run in my 2-stroke waverunner, and my fishing boat outboard.
Since when doe's KTM make a manual for there bikes ?Thanks for the info guys. I have been riding a 4 stroke and just purchased a 200cc mxc KTM. The manual stated 60:1 and I have had my grandson run 40:1 in his Yamaha YZ85. I split the difference in the manual and have been mixing 50:1 but after the discussion on this site I am changing to 40:1.
Do you guys run a 10-40w 4 stroke oil in your transmissions?

OH NO !!!! I better get the 100:1 out of my 14,200 RPM Husqvarna..........32:1 is for chain saws.....
I bought a 13 250sx. Did u have to modify ure jetting at all? Mine is brand new and has some trouble idling.I have a 2012 KTM 250SX and I run Motorex 2T at 40:1 for my premix and Motorex 4T for the Crankcase/Gear oil. Its what the factory recommends for mine and a local dealer has a pretty good price on the Motorex luckily!
If its new have you told the dealer .....seems that's a problem for them to fix being its under warrentyI bought a 13 250sx. Did u have to modify ure jetting at all? Mine is brand new and has some trouble idling.

Just to give some more support to Amsoil, I've run it in my BergAmsoil for me then after reading that test !!
No. My brother and myself did many seasons racing KX80 and 125s using castrol TTS at 32:1 and there was very little to no blue smoke. In that time we never blew an engine, nor was there any problems with carbon build up or problems with the power valve systems. All oils will burn differently so the Mix Ratio is a guide.
Start at the recommended ratio. Take note of exhaust smoke and look at the plug for wet soot.
In the exhaust, you should notice just a nery light haze of blue smoke. If it is very noticeable, lean it out a little at a time.
At 32:1, I bet that Kawi smoked pretty good no matter what oil you used.

We ran 20:1 in the 80’s. They were air cooled so I guess more was needed. Yes we fouled plugs, lol32:1 old school more like 50:1 ....love my Castrol R bean oil.......32:1 is for chain saws......Maxima is really good oil why change ?
