Make sure it’s getting gas. The petcock stem/filter can disintegrate or fall apart inside the tank and clog the fuel line. i had to replace my 08 one after maybe 50hrs of use. Wear item too.
 
Would be handy if you had a friend with similar bike and you could swap out components.
The plug caps can give issues as the doggie mentioned. You can do resistance tests on the stator, that sometimes works, but not always 100% accurate.
I would make sure there are no rubbed through wires anywhere as well.
In my experience, I have rarely had to replace a cdi on those models. Definitely done a few stators though.
Same. I don't think I've ever had a CDI/stator issue on my KTMs... apologies no experience here to pull from.
