Does either the 500 EXC-f 6Days or the 500 EXC-F standard model come from the factory with the quick shifter and/or the handle bar map switch installed?

Does anyone know which "map" the 500 XW-F comes default without the switch? I'm a bit "underwhelmed" by the torque and would like to know which is default. I've seen posts that the race XCW bikes are in map 2 (aggressive) as a default, but that the EXC/XW are in the more balanced/smooth mode, which would make sense since they are emission controlled bikes. I really don't want to spend $175 to try to get one, just to get an even "slower" mode or care about the traction control or quick-shift, but if it would give me a snappier low end torque that I was expecting, then it would be worth it. I hate to spend $800 on a new ECU after already spending a crap ton of cash on this...sigh.

Old thread I know, but I made an account to hopefully help some guys out. Please delete if the workaround is already known, but I did not see it anywhere. While the 24+ exc-f, fe s, and gasgas es do not support the map switch out of the box, here’s how to make it work (I work at a GasGas dealership):
1. Install map switch and confirm all buttons light up but pressing them does nothing, as a previous poster mentioned.
2. Bring bike to dealer and ask them to flash the stock software onto the ecu (should be the only one available) with the switch still plugged in, and all map switch lights on
3. After the flash and reboot, the 2 maps are now functional and you can program the quick shifter.
Tested and confirmed both maps, tc and qs work.

I also realize this is an old post but I'll add a little info.
I recently purchased a 2025 KTM 500 EXC-F and bought a Combination Switch with TC, QS and two map settings. It was simple to plug in behind the headlight. But all lights on the switch illuminated and the switch did not function. I took it to the dealer who had it for a week. They finally called and said they couldn't get it to work. They talked to their KTM Rep who said the ECU could not be re-flashed because the EXC model was street legal and this would interfere with emissions.

So at this point I guess the only remedy is to send it out for a $500 reflash at a non KTM business.

Is there any other solution???

Have your dealer follow the procedure of my last post with their xc2 software. I did it to my road legal 350, and I was able to replicate it on the road legal ES500 (same ecu as excf 500). All ecus can be reflashed with the original firmware. This is not the same as we used to do and flash euro firmwares. The switch has to be present with lights flashing during the reflash.
