Now I know that sounds crazy but bear with me. I have a Remus hypercone that I've had on the bike for two years. The muffler finally blew out the back end. Kinda crappy considering how much Remus charges for these. The bike was basically open header, it sounded terrible and was deafening.

I went and put the stock exhaust and I was shocked, I forgot how quiet it was. It's too quiet. I had a thought about just removing the stock muffler and keeping the cat on. It actually sounds pretty good. Quieter than the Remus ever was.
I'm thinking I'll cut up the stock muffler and just have a pipe dump right under the swingarm. Anyone else ever try anything similar?

Man these singles sound like absolute crap (IMO) with the DB Killer out of an expensive slip-on so couldn't imagine them without any muffler! I pity anyone that rides with you and your eardrums. Would not recommend it all.

Put the stock exhaust on with a $70 decat pipe off ebay and be on your way. My $0.02

+1 on noise pollution. Bad for riders hearing. Bad for riders companions or passengers. Just bad for business. All riders should wear hearing protection while riding any motorcycle(and helmet) but certainly as a courtesy to other creatures(including humans) be sensible with exhaust note. We riders all love screaming motors, but we share a planet with others that dont share our love of motorcycles and the sound of them. Just my $002

Way too loud IMHO. I always ride with quality earplugs and it was still too much noise. Augiedoggie nailed it- too much noise is bad for you and for your fellow cyclists and humans. I love my LeoVince midpipe- it has a small built in baffle and combined with my Delkovic CF slip-on, it makes a rich, strong sound mid-way between stock and the obnoxious straight pipe. Loud enough to be heard, not so loud as to piss off the neighbors.

Been running no muffler and cat since I got my new 2015. Best $20 mod ever as it was too quiet to ride stock. Here is a long boring video of it on my youtube channel and, on most of my videos of the KTM you can hear the exhaust. I do wear ear plugs to protect against wind noise, but, I like the way it sounds with the cat only, and, I think KTM calls the cat a pre-muffler. I just pass it off as a stock exhaust, like the Buell's. And, it saves a couple of pounds and cleans up the bike's appearance in my opinion.

have you remap your computer or just remove your muffler and run like this?

When i got mine it had a ebay carbon fiber muffler and cat delete, super loud, was going to put stock muffler on catless midpipe but ended up wrapping the silencer inside the muffler with muffler packing and now it sounds good. Not to loud not to quiet.
