Disappointing 390 TFT and KTM response...

I bought a 390 Duke in the summer of 2019 - an expensive small bike. Soon after the first service I got moisture in the TFT panel. It was replaced. I picked the bike up and about 20km from the dealer on my way home, the new panel was fogged up... It has been replaced 3 times now without success. Three days ago the dealer called and said that the latest TFT has been delivered for my 390. Off I went and got the TFT replaced. However on my way home I again got condensation in the TFT. Very disappointing to say the least!

Yesterday the dealer called to say that KTM now issued a formal instruction that the condensation is normal and on par with competitor's TFTs... I got hold of the PDF and and post it here. I have not seen any Japanese/German bike with this issue, so I do not know how they came to this conclusion. This is how KTM passes the buck! Very poor to say the least!

Have you also got moisture issues? Any solutions??

I just called the KTM USA Customer Service number about the condensation in the TFT dash on my 2021 890 Adv R. They told me to take the bike to the dealer, and that no new TFT enclosure was available. They did not know how the dealer would replicate the issue, nor did they request any information on my particular bike. This says they are not even tracking reports from customers. Not good. So, they are doing nothing to resolve this known issue. When I asked how customers were supposed to justify spending valuable time with the dealer, when the best possible outcome is replacing the unit with the same part, the conversation became frustratingly circular. The rep actually said "Sir, at this point, you can do whatever you want with your motorcyle". Afterward, I did call the dealer, who said taking the bike in would at least get the issue on record. Two trips to this dealer is over 4 hours in transport time alone (2 hour round trip x2), easily a full day of valuable time, just to get the issue on record. Why can't this be done on the phone, since there is currently no improved part? Best case, production QC on these parts is inconsistent, and proactive measures are over due. What happens if your display fails after the short 12 month warranty term expires? I was quoted $1153.00 for the TFT assembly, part only. Mistakes happen. It's how they are dealt with that makes the difference. One thing that is sure, if consumers won't make the effort to hold companies accountable, they will get more of the same for their hard earned money. Here's the KTM contact info. If you are having a problem with your bike, please contact KTM, and your local dealer.

Good luck trying to replace the screen... I am on nr. 3 (replacements) and they all have the same issue.... Regards!

OMG!! I have had the EXACT same issues with regards to having the screen replaced and the condensation coming right back within miles of leaving the dealership after having a new one installed for the 3rd time. Your not alone. It has been extremely challenging dealing with the TFT problem(s). Cause, after learning to live with the condensation problem, recently, the screen started flickering while riding. Sometimes going completely black. I have brought it to the attention of the dealership as well as KTM and still waiting for a resolution. Attached you can see a video of my TFT and the flickering problem:
