Yes, exactly what I said, the problem is with the Evotech tail tidy design and the simplest and least expensive way to correct this is to just change out the guts of the OEM incandescent turn signals to LED type lamps (under the same OEM plastic lens cover so no leaks and no need to mess with any wiring) with the Weiser Technik conversion kit that I used.
I thought the problem was that the stock U.S. turn signals are too long and will hit the factory panniers if used on the Evotech tail tidy.

If that is true, how does changing the guts of the turn signals make them shorter?

Sorry, I guess that I didn't read your post correctly. I still have the OEM tail section and was just relaying my experience with a simple plug-and-play solution to convert from incandescent to LED turn signals. However, when I used an Evotech tail tidy on my 1000SX, like you, I had to change out the turn signals to EU type LED in order to clear the panniers and why I mentioned that Evotech needs to consider the US type incandescent turn signals in their designs.

Yeah.... instead, Evotech has discontinued the tail tidy for the GT...

Probably not selling enough of them to justify the redesign. Sad, because they really make quality stuff without any fitment issues.

Yeah. I looked at those. I like the look of the Evotech better and, fortunately, bought the Evotech before they quit making them. I mean, the tail tidy is 100% about looks, so no point in buying one at all unless I'm buying the one that looks the best (to me).

I really like the way it came out with the factory KTM (UK) LED turn signals.

All true.

Maybe they will come out with a new one for the 1390 GT.

But, it won't matter to me as the 1-gallon smaller fuel tank makes the 1390 a non-starter for me. I'll be keeping my 1290 for the foreseeable future. The 1390 looks awesome and I would be all over wanting one, if it wasn't for that...

New Zealand must have some really clean air and available fuel. I have one intake valve that seems to lose clearance over time. The rest look like they may need slight attention next time around.
We do have very clean crisp air here Hammer. My 959S Multistrada need 5 valves re shimming at 30,000kms, the mechanic said the air box had a lot of dust and grit in it (i do lots of gravel rides on it) We fitted a better K&N filter, the air box on the 1290 was spotless, not a spec of dust. Must make a big diff.

After three different 1290 and one 1290RR it was now the time to try the new 1390R. Wonderful bike that has much better quality on fitment and overall finnish. The engine itself is much more of a superbike engine with the punch high up in the RPMs. The punchy low and mid range torque of the gen 1 and 2 is not present at this incarnation ot the LC8 engine. Pictures attached of the new purshase.
