Thoughts on No RPM

Hey Enthusiasts,

Curious to see what you think about not having an RPM on a 2006 KTM 950 Supermoto.

You get an extremely basic readout:
Speed
Temperature (always hot)
Time
Odometer
Lights for oil, gas, highbeams

I have a hard time assessing what is a normal idle speed without a tach. It has the idle adjuster which is always needy. I cannot see what the voltmeter at 4K to make sure that the bike is charging normally. Almost wondering if I should get an aftermarket one or ride like a bandit and ditch the whole readout! Let me know if I am resting too much on my older biking habits or this is legitimate.

Can you fit just a generic tacho to it?
A lot of my dirt bikes didn't have tacho's, you just listen to the revs and try not to string it's t*ts off.

Hahah.
Thats what I am doing now. I think the real issue is that when its cold or I dont know...whenever, the idle is either SUPER high, or it is trying to choke out and does, I just want it to idle at a normal pace that doesnt sound like I am doing a track start at a red light.

The 950LC8 engine does sound quite revvy at idle though more so than a sportsbike.

KevXTX reccomends setting RPM to 1440. Generically many people seem to go as high as 1600.

A Japanese IL4 engine will likely be closer to 1000/1200 rpm as idle.

Can you use TuneECU on them ? That will show the idle quickly and easily ?
