Well if its the same issue, just cruising in a high gear approx. 3000 rpm then gently accelerate its like 1 cylinder cuts out completely, one time it came up the kepts running on 1 cyl until i zero'd the throttle then re-applied. you will know if its the same issue the bike stops suddenly then kicks back in enough to cause an accident on bend or in traffic...
The best way to describe the fault is the sudden loss of power, then a sudden return of it.

I have the same issue but it cuts out almost entirely and then back to normal.

Any news about this issue? My '24 1290 SAR has also this problem.
Did you read the earlier comments listing part number of the rotor that is mis-machined? You can provide your dealer with that info and they can possibly make a repair.

The ignition rotor ktm part number 61939005000

Thanks mate. My bike is from '24 so I think (and hope) KTM fixed the rotors the last 3 years but you never know. I sent my dealer couple of forumlinks where the same issue is discussed but didn't hear from the dealer yet. They have my bike for 2 weeks now (also for the first service) but I think KTM HQ is closed now because of the holidays. When I first called my dealer about this issue they said it's because of the euro5 emissions and the lean fueling at low rpm's  so I'm curious of the "solution"........

Is there any photos or video of adjusting this gap. I’d like to do this one myself, but I don’t see anything in the service manual on the procedure.

I send all ktm forums koments to ktm and they actually look in to it and did all as they should. They're videos on YouTube about it Ricardo yep did some... also ktm know about it and did bulleting about it.
I searched Ricardo's channel and couldn't find any videos on the topic. Do you have any links?

Здравейте, наскоро си купих нов 1290 -2024, едва на 500 км е и мисля, че вече два пъти се счупи, което говори много лошо за KTM

This engine cutout happened twice when opening the throttle. I'll drive it again to make sure there's a problem and talk to KTM.
Also make sure your engine isn't knocking due to low octane. My 1290 Super Adventure did this with the first tank of fuel and stopped when I filled up with high octane.

Yesterday I was driving and it did it, but it happens very rarely, I was in sixth gear, I think at about 3500 rpm. The first time I thought I touched the lever and the shifter was activated, but now my foot was too far away. I think the shifter is activated by vibrations. The dealer tells me they have not heard of such a problem with the rotor.

Yesterday I drove about 400km, stopped at an intersection, the engine went out as if I was turning off the ignition, the display went out and came back on, then I started it and there was no problem. Any idea why this happened? My hand was far from the button.

I replaced the rotor with a new original part on my 2018.
sadly no change in problems. its still jerky in low revs..

but what a machine in speed :)
recently did 1700 km, along norway.

While the bike will run at 3500 rpm in 6th gear it's not ideal. With this bike when I'm riding chill I'll shift at 5k rpm and I don't deliberately ride below 4000 rpm unless i'm riding on fumes.

finally got to ride my 1290 today ina long time… I’m recovering from a torn ACL and meniscus surgery in April. She was brilliant so sharp and the torque was fantastic. i rode about four hours and zero issues until I was lugging the motor and hit it a bit and she shutters I few times and I realized that’s what was happening to me at slower speeds. I didn’t realize it was the lugging in a higher gear when it was happening. Not sure if that’s the timing or not. But it’s definitely what I was feeling.
