i've watched a new clip of aron colton, and i notice a few things about he's duke 690.

first of all, he drive only with the cat, no can... like a cheap remous i guess.
can it harm the engine in any way?

second, i have looked at the wheelie bar he maid with the sliders, I like it alot.
and thinking of making me one in addition to the 6 slider's i already mounted.

clip link:
and a photo added.

I can see no reason why the silencer would be at all protective of the CAT. I think it would be an utterly safe mod. I considered it myself with the addition of a small exhaust pipe extension fitted to the back of the CAT. But when I weighed the CAT, I said "that has to go - now!"

Only the auto-cold-start remap. The back pressure from the silencer through the cat would be virtually nothing.

Not an issue.

Put an exit pipe on your cat sneaky. Like I said earlier I considered your mod, before I weighed that PhatCat. My biggest fear was exhaust crap landing on the rear tyre. Any exhaust modder/fitter will be able to knock one out out for you.

Aaand I deliver!

The sound is 100x times better than with the silencer on, but it could get somewhat too loud sometimes. The general extra grunt is nice tho.
Drive-by video: (I thought I recorded a video of it standing still with sound test, but I forgot to hit record.. Might bother to make one later)

Thats sounds like the 390 mate, try watching a 390 vid on youtube while you have your video playing you'll hear what I mean.

While Im typing I will say I agree with Doctor Lew regarding pressures etc. the can does more than silence things and is part of the final output. It may feel revier down low but Id be comfortable putting my money down to say it will drop in HP/torque on a Dyno. Thats why you all buy an Akra. Hahaha another one for Kev :D. Maybe we need to start a Kev R&D Slush Fund!

Sounds great sneaky. Do you have any other mods on it?

I will do the same to mine this weekend. I need better sound. I asked Kevin if I had to remap if I removed the cat and put an akra can on it and he said no. His testing showed that it will work fine. So I am sure that having just the cat will be ok too.

I have been riding with out the silencer for about 6K miles stock map with it set to Map2 on the dial to advance timings 6K since I got the bike and so far nothing has happened to the bike. Like I said I only have a little over 6K on the bike since I just got it beginning of last month late July but will keep everything posted if I have issues. I do hear back fires when letting off the throttle and just letting the bike slow its self down and pulling in the clutch but other then that its great. Some people dont like how loud it is but to me people on the freeway since I spend 90% of my time on they can hear me just fine.
