Hi, mine 1290 Super Adv R 2022 is doing the same, typically when cornering and open a throttle bit more aggresive when going out, or just suddenly want swift acclerating, mostly driving in Race mode. Indeed it is scary when expecting to kick and for miliseconds there is something like strong back pull. Not have it every ride, maybe 2nd. So far clock is on 3000km. Mention it to dealer at 1000km service, didnt put much attension on it. Next time will push, will see reaction.

If it's happening at the same rpm range around 3k rpm then that is the problem for sure. Make sure they fix it. I took a 3k mile trip after changing the flywheel and it never once had an issue.

Got a new 2023 SDGT just ran in and now in Spain on tour - 1500 miles. If I am around 3000 rpm and open the throttle half or more to power out of hairpins it misfires. I can make it happen on demand, high gear around 3k and open the throttle over half and it misfires. Foot nowhere near the quickshifter. Hopefully dealer can sort it out on my return.

I owns a S.D GT 2023 and have the same power down jerk at acceleration in 3-6:th gear from aprox 3000rpm.

Have prepered for spring season service to have them fix my engine problems! and I hope they take your advice about the Rotor unit beeing the reason for the jerky behaivour.

Took it into the dealers who rode it and couldn't find the problem. I told them to take it back out 28mph in 2nd, 36mph in 3rd or 68mph in 6th and open the throttle - guarantee missfire. Happened to the mechanic and they have wiped software and reinstalled with tech pack - unfortunately this has now caused a problem with the quickshifter. They have took the alternator cover off and took photos of the poorly machined rotor for KTM to look at this week. It is being plugged into KTM Austria to look at the quickshifter. Only a month old!!

Dealer refinished the tooling marks on the rotor and reset the pick up gap. Took the GT out today and it's like riding a different machine. Much more eager to rev from low down and will pull in high gears at slow speeds. No misfiring at all. Anybody with the same issue in the UK contact JDracing in Saltash.

Very common fault now on new 1290 as ktm had bad badge of rotors... did mine in warranty 6 months ago...

Sure wish someone would get photos of this rotor that has the poor tooling markings on it so it can be used as a reference when dealing with the local dealerships.
I send all ktm forums koments to ktm and they actually look in to it and did all as they should. They're videos on YouTube about it Ricardo yep did some... also ktm know about it and did bulleting about it.

my 2022 Super Duke is doing the same thing it’s always at the worst time when hitting Apex in the corner and getting back on the gas slowly it just drops off for a split second definitely an unsettling feeling feeling is there a recall on this? There’s no way they’re going to duplicate this when they test ride it it only happens once in a while

No recall just buleting from ketm to dealer's. Tell them about it they need to inspect rotor and usually they will adjust crankshaft sensor on flywheel. Keep pushing them to check it is very common on 1290 engines.

my 22 sas fuels and runs perfect at low rpm, but my 22 sdr evo will act as described here. the thing is it only started happening around a 1000 miles or so ago so(14,000 miles now) I was blaming it on the lighter flywheel, taller gearing and possibly dirty air filter(been doing lots of gravel). Was this issue on just the adv or all 1290's?

all 1290 engines with bad badge of rotors... s, r adv and dukes aswell

Is it something we should just buy a new one and install? My 2022 1290 Super Duke Evo R does it everyone in a while but it's always at the worst possible time like when your just getting back on the gas at the apex riding twice the speed limit! LOL
