I'd leave the O2 sensors on, your bike will run better.

the O2 sensors as well? If not, would anyone else recommend this? .
if the o2 is off , part throttle cruise is not being regularly measured , So then part throttle cruise is using the last previous trimed base map or its using just base map.(not sure)

When o2 is on, your cruise map is being trimmed a little here or there according to measurements from o2 reading.

but remember o2 sensor is not part of your acceleration map.

Atleast this my understanding.

Looking for a good map

14 rc8

block off plates
knN air filter
jester exhaust
94 octane fuel

Looking for the best map ever made possible.

Thank you :wink2:

Man, this is good stuff! I don't plan to track my bike either but with what I've just read I'll get the Jester, leave the SAS and O2 sensor on the bike, get the notification turned off via TuneECU, upgrade the air filter and get it on the Dyno for a good tune.

That should do me just fine to keep things simple.

Would you guys recommend the Dyno or will TuneECU suffice?

You could say that the tune ecu custom maps have been sorted out according to the bolt ons/mods you do.
If the dyno session guy can tweak the tune ecu map to make it "better". Most would do that.
If i had the rc8 with tune ecu options i probably would do the mods and download a tuneecu map thats consistent with the mods , then run it and wonder how close the bike is to being "sorted", after that find a dyno guy with tune ecu skills and get it sorted.

I would think thats what most have done eventually.

I'll let you know come friday...

After close to a month of being in the shop mygirl will be back Friday. I've gotten an east coast TuneECU map. I'll be running a jester pipe, Rottweiler everything else (intake/sas/O2/Blanks)

Whoever you see or if you do it yourselff tune/get a map thats close to whatever the conditions you live in. I'm eastern Canada, no point in getting a Arizona map for my bike, its not hot or dry here, the only scorpion is my ex and the only desert is at the Gelato place in Woodbridge....

Get it desert.... like sand but I really mean like friggin Ice cream or som e****

Hey guys I don't know if this helps.I first got into tune ecu when I had my superduke. It a big thing for those bikes.
on superduke.net there is a huge thread that has instustions I mean huge.
and there is a guy that makes the cable on that site I was going to buy some and sell them on this site because his are hand made and very good quality.

So go there and you can buy the cable and see and they have all the places to go and download the files. They make it easy because they have been doing this for a long time.Try it it helped me because I am so bad at computers I am so worried about screwing up.My bike is running perfect in everyway.
no surges, low end power you name it I love it.I can't wait to track it this month
I know how good it runs on the back roads. I know it will be great at Chuckwalla
I would love to get it on the menu I just need help. I don't want to mess it up
Can you reset the service light on a super duke with this as well?

Pretty straightforward really.
Different exhausts (silencer set).
Differences would be in fuelling and ignition maps. Load them up onto your computer and compare.
right, so earlier on this thread it says use the 0331, then to use the 0334.

Here is my setup:

2014 RC8R
Jester Exhaust
SAS and Emissions canister removed (with Rott plates/dongles/blanking kits), so the tank vents to atmosphere.
Stock airbox with K&N filter

I did the 15min idle reset, but the idle is still slightly erratic, and the bike is jerky at anything less than 5K RPM.

Maybe it's stupid to think that since the Jester exhaust seems more similar to the Akra EVO4 it would make sense to go with the 0331 map first? The Akra Evo Twin set up looks quite different than the Jester and therefore the 0334 map for this set up might not be as suitable as the 0331?

Has anyone tries both maps with the jester exhaust? Thanks.

A bit late but I had the 0334 flashed (before I knew it was for the evo twin since the description said "akra w/ silencer") for a summer on my bike (2014, jester). It ran well but fairly rich and zero backfire. Then I went to a slightly modified version of stock map from another member here, it runs good and some slight backfiring has come back (I don't mind). Also did sas delete but at the same time as reversion to stock-ish map. Still stock air box too.

I never ran 0331.

I think on the map I have now, the only change from stock 2014 map was a little more fuel above 5k (just going on memory here, I can find the map if needed). I do use 02 enabled and SAS disabled of course.

New to the thread
Live in Atlanta

2010 RC8
Jester pipe
SAS removed Rottweiler block offs
02 Eliminated Rottweiler Dongles
Stock intake....BMC filter

Bike runs smooth, little back firing here and there.....looking for for HP gains ...anyone's thoughts on a Power commander V??

Does anyone know if TuneECU has a map for 2010 RC8 / Jester...SAS blocked off 02 eliminated...BMC ...I saw a post earlier that showed some maps but not for this year bike with these mods.....any response would be appreciated

Hi folks
Quick question, 2010 RC8 UK bike, K&N Airfilter, totally gutted exhaust running PC3 with arko map, the bike is running great very happy with it, I want to remove PC3 and re-map using Tuneecu but which map should I use there are 2 listed on the Tuneecu site:
KTM 1190 RC8 2009-2010 model year with Akropovic exhaust
KTM 1190 RC8 106 hp 2009-2010 model year with Akropovic exhaust
Thanks in advance

misterbish thread

I have jester exhaust(no baffle), k&n filter, sas delete, I loaded the 331 map from tuneecu, turned off sas and O2 sensors. I rode it last night and it feels good on the butt dyno, smoothed out no backfires, overall I'm pleased. With everyone's experience is it better to leave o2s off or on? Oh and I also adjusted the idle a couple hundred Rpms lower once warmed up. Anyone see any issues with this setup?
In my opinion theres 2 thoughts.

Race bike - when the o2 is off the closed throttle or part throttle cruise expected during braking in corners or apex, the closed loop circuit as you will is not collecting data from the o2 so it defaults to the base mapping in that circuit and the base map could be considered a more uniform throttle position to go from until you hit the gas and now your load and rpm maps are working to produce power.

road bike-it might be possible to have a fuelly maps bike , taking every advantage of fueling and ignition like the race bike , but during highway cruise your o2 if enabled is still being refined so you have good cruise economy.

So can we enable 02's, and run with them on despite the fact we don't have cats?

SAS off
02's on

??

Would the 02's getting hot to reignite gasses matter if you don't have any cats? And as well as not injecting any more air via SAS.

Im about to do SAS OFF, (was going to do 02's off as well) and JCE pipe. I don't want the bike to run improperly for any reason.
sas or sai only effects exhaust after the valve, if no cat in the stock exhaust then it needs disabling.

if you have the akra with single lambda sensor in the 2 pipe juntion you need sai off and blanked.
If you have cat delete and your going for a dyno , you need sai off.

Does anyone know of a map for my '09 rc8r with Rottweiler and opened up muffler?
Baffles and I think cats were removed by previous owner and I've just added a used Rottweiler setup.
Still has o2 sensors. Sas deleted.

Currently has an Akro map but not sure if it's safe?
did you sort something out ?

Thanks Sideshow. Since I am curious, what is it that you can not use Maps from 2009 models on a 2011? What will happen? Will you destroy engine/valves or will the bike just run badly? If I remember right I think I know some one that have done this and if that is bad I would like to know way so I can tell him to remap his bike.
2008,2009,2010 rc8 are 1149cc 12.5:1 comp \ single spark
2009,2010 rc8R are 1195cc 13.5:1 comp \ single spark
2011 rc8R are 1195cc 13.5:1 comp \ twin spark

when doing map swaps with unknown bike condition and settings , anything suspect like the banging when you unloaded the motor would make me suspect.
I used this theory on my 690 and didn't settle for anything less than smooth and extremely revvy bike.
Actually RC8 fans , ive defragged the thread a bit, maybe we can use this thread to link to user threads, no one wants to go through old website tech .
