Yes that' right cause the Akra Map (in real its called EVO Map) added fuel.
BUT that map is normally for the use of full akra, open airbox AND tuning cam!
Without tuning cam many people have problems with stalling, power and/or Nm. :(

So its better to use the standard map inkl. Power Commander, rapid Bike, Kevs fuel mod or sth. like that.
Oh, that's right! (about the map being for bikes with the cam) And now that you mention it, I DO have issues with stalling. And since I put the akra map in the bike after the first 100km, I don't remember if it's always been like that or if it was due to the map.

I'm leaning towards getting rid of the map and getting the PCV. :001_unsure:

Does anyone know any ETA on the availability of the PCV?

I think all of you are being too picky with minor details.

I have the Akra map and no "performance" cam and bike runs great.

It did have a tendency to do cold stalls before got rid of the cat and added DNA filters.
After those and a 15min idle reset no problems.

Live in Finland so the bikes are in the garage ower the winter, about 6 months a year, newer had any problems riding any of my bikes in the spring with the fuel that had sat in the tank ower wintertime.

Fuel lasts wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy longer than a couple of months.

We get the same discussions over here all the time Wiwwee

Noooooooooooooooooooooooo it doesn't. Standard fuel lasts but not the high octane stuff.

The only reason that we still have standard octane fuel available to us in Australia, 'cause our Pollies (politicians) tried to ban standard fuel a while ago, is because high octane fuel goes stale in a matter of 3-4 weeks. So running machinery that uses standard fuel and sits still for weeks on end (lawn mowers for instance) cannot be stored with fuel in their tanks.

due to the series variance it could happen that your bike was to lean ex works and then u have less problems now with Evo Map without tuning cam

Shell V-Pover 99 octane.
6 months & 5 days it sat in the tank during last winter and fired right up and ran just fine.

Yeh? I won't even buy fresh Shell. I spent a week trying to tune a set of flat slides on my Triumph some time ago. I rang a guy in the know and he asked me what fuel I was using. I told him it was high octane Shell. He said chuck it and refill and get back to me. Tuned it in half an hour.

I suspect youse Northerners get better fuel than us too.

So, next Monday (the 28th) I'm dropping my bike off at the mechanics to have him do the 20000km/2yr service.

The bike just passed 13000km, but it's almost been a year since the 1yr service.

I'm contemplating asking him to remove the akra-map and putting in the stock/standard one.

I'm probably getting the PCV or going with Kev's fuel-mod instead, depending on when the PCV becomes available again.

Or I might end up selling the bike.

Thoughts?

I had some big issues with stalling on my SMC-R with Akra map until i refitted the db-killer.
